After two months in USA, my listening got worse than in Chin

After two months in USA, my listening got worse than in China....

I went to a US university this summer for a summer session. Before I went abroad, I felt my English is poor and wanted to improve my speaking and listening in the English-speaking environment.

My listening is terribly poor, I'm just like a deaf when I take an exam such as Tofel or even CET-6. After these two months, I found my speaking was improved.

But I'm still deaf in US. When I came back, I found my listening even poorer than in China. When I was in China, I always watched CCTV-9 and I can understand some of it. When I came back, I found myself even worse on CCTV-9

I don't know why. I went to California where the accent is not strange...

May be it is you fantasy that your english is poorer than in china, your english is greatly improved!

I think maybe the reason of different culture, because when you are in china, you learn the chinseenglish, though cctv-9 speaks a little fast and fluently, they always not the native english, while when you in abroad, you should understand you are in an english enviroment, so you can speak a little native, you have really improved you english, now you are back to china, the speak style has changed, what you talk with others in chinese, they are still the chinesenglish, so the difference is still exist, maybe a difficult communacation! it's not you havn't improved, just because the difference of culture!

just take easy

i want to say that studying English is not one day or two day's work. you should not fancy that just three
months could improve your english greatly, especially your poor english base. CCTV 9 is hard, it is not easy to follow by people who even past CET-6. i suggest you to study step by step. that is the right way to
study english.
